The centre caters for the needs of 72 children. These children are placed in care for various reasons, such as abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Our aim is to provide children at risk with an environment that is stimulating and motivating in order that they are equipped with the necessary skills to become independent and positive leaders in the future. We strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which children can grow and develop positively. Our interaction with the children includes offering therapeutic services to them and using a holistic approach in meeting all their needs.
We regard empowerment as the key to social and emotional well-being and development of children. This will enable them to have a sense of ownership and pride in whatever they set out to do.
There are 6 cottages at William Clark Gardens/ Othandweni Children’s Home. Each cottage consists of 12 young people ranging from 6 years to 17 years of age.
We appeal to everyone, to assist us in meeting the needs of our children. Whether its purchasing some of the items on the list or making a financial contribution, we appreciated all you efforts. You may also adopt a cottage and attend to the needs in that particular cottage if you wish. Please feel free to come and visit William Clark Gardens or arrange for the manager to come and do a presentation.
